Maintaining your window sills is an important part of your homes “health.” Properly maintaining this area can also significantly increase the amount of time you have in between professional window cleanings.

What You Will Need
  • 4-8 washcloths or rags (depending on the number of windows in your home)
  • A soft toothbrush
  • Warm water
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar

How Often Should Window Sills be Cleaned?
Window sills should be cleaned every two to three months. This simple task can prevent mold, and dust from collecting which could lead to cracked paint, not to mention could make your windows dirty. 

How to Clean Your Window Sills
To properly clean the window sill, start by wiping it down with a warm washcloth to remove large debris or dust. Next, mix together 1 cup of vinegar and 0.5 teaspoons of baking soda. Dip a soft toothbrush in the mixture and gently massage the sill enough to remove any remaining visible dust or dirt.  Finally, wipe the area clean with water and a warm washcloth.
